Today I’ll be in conversation with Muhju, the architect and artist behind the Renaissance 2.0 artstyle. He just announced the launch of the Cendre Bracelet on Art Fungible, a handcrafted phygital artifact putting fine silver craftsmanship on-chain. Limited to only 99 pieces, followed by an edition of 25.
Each bracelet is individually made in silver and features an intricate coin. Every physical piece is paired with both physical and digital certificates of authenticity. NFT Magazine readers can access the whitelist for this collection now: WHITELIST
Muhju is a Swiss architect and illustrator based in Zurich, best known for his distinctive artistic philosophy, Renaissance 2.0. Drawing inspiration from antiquity, including ancient Greece and Rome, as well as the Renaissance and Baroque eras, he reimagines classical grandeur through a digital-first lens. Working across 3D modeling tools, design pipelines, and 2D digital painting, Muhju synthesizes traditional aesthetics with contemporary techniques, creating works that feel both timeless and distinctly modern. His art has been exhibited globally in cities such as Rome, Milan, New York, Seoul, Paris, and Bangkok.
Olena Yara: Can you tell me more about the Cendre Bracelet? Why is it limited to only 99 pieces. Why was this number important to you?
Muhju: The Cendre bracelet is deeply inspired by the architecture of ancient Roman denarii. Just as those coins featured a central portrait surrounded by Latin inscriptions, this piece frames a central motif with decorative engraving. That focal point is an ornate skull and has a history of its own. It was originally a commissioned design for a member of Florence’s legendary Medici family.
In collaboration with Art Fungible, we made the deliberate choice to limit this run to just 99 pieces. We wanted to preserve a sense of exclusivity, creating a handcrafted relic that feels like a mythical artifact lost in time.
Olena Yara: You describe the Cendre Bracelet as an “initiation” rather than a product. What experience do you hope early collectors will go through?
Muhju: To me, the Cendre Bracelet is not a product but a piece of art. The Renaissance 2.0 style must strive to go beyond the canvas and transcend simple 2D imagery. It is an encompassing aesthetic that can apply to sculpture, architecture, and even fashion. I wanted to create a 'small sculpture' that is attainable. Owning this bracelet signifies that you were present at a specific moment in history and were able to participate in it. This piece marks an 'initiation' as I step outside the boundaries of painting. Renaissance 2.0 is a living aesthetic I am constantly developing, and I hope my collectors will join me on that journey.
Olena Yara: The minting process gives each collector a unique on-chain serial number. How does this numbering system work, and why should early whitelist members care about securing a lower number?
Muhju: Collectors will mint this piece and receive the physical bracelet along with a Layer 2 token tied directly to it. Each item is strictly numbered from 1 to 99. The main reason to join the whitelist is simply to secure one of these rare spots. Since this is a campaign to introduce Art Fungible as a Gallery and Digital Art Platform, the price is incredibly accessible. Collectors are essentially only covering the shipping costs. Because of this, the bracelets will sell out immediately. Aiming for a 'lower number' is really about being early enough to successfully claim one of the 99 pieces before they are gone.
Olena Yara: Twenty-five bracelet holders will receive a rare L1 Edition artwork via raffle. Can you hint at what it might be?
Muhju: Since only the 'lucky winners' will receive this specific Artwork, I prefer to keep the details shrouded in mystery. I view this piece as a personal gift from me to those who support the bracelet drop. I cannot reveal the visual just yet. I can only promise that it will be fascinating and beautiful.
Olena Yara: Finally, what are you working on right now, and what can we expect to see from you in the future?
Muhju: My primary motivation has always been to refine my craft and bridge the gap between my imagination and the final image. While I am currently expanding my oeuvre through fashion collaborations and physical sculpture, my core focus remains on digital art. I strive to master the latest technologies constantly. To me, that pursuit of innovation is the true spirit of Renaissance 2.0.
