This year's Hot Art Summer kicks off in Lisbon with an exciting digital art exhibition and cocktail party, curated by Vivid Gallery, Yara Agency, and Factory 4.0. Marking Factory 4.0's first exhibition in Lisbon, the nomadic art gallery, co-founded by Olena Yara and Paul Dowling, typically operates in London. Recently, Olena interviewed Paul, where they explored why much of AI-generated art often feels, and perhaps is, mediocre.

To quote Nicole Sales, Director of Digital Art at Christie’s, from the Art Basel & UBS Collecting Survey 2024 by Dr. Clare McAndrew: “AI tools will enable more mediocre art to be created quickly.” But she also believes they “will help the best artists create works they would not otherwise be able to do.” This sums up the AI-generated art discussion pretty well.
